Megadeth - recensione di alcuni nuovi pezzi
Blackmail The Universe 03-16-2004
OK here are my views of Blackmail The Universe.
BTU is more than amazing. Yes, more. It took about 5 listens for it to really hit deep, first couple of listens were more of an onslaught - which of course is a great thing. But to truly appreciate the song, it took a few listens. Since then I can't get enough of it. I always find with more intricate songs that it takes a few listening to really sink in. You know, when lyrics don't rhyme and there are lots of them with various melodies, along with the music being so involved, it takes some getting used to. Very much a pleasure to do so; how often do we get to sink our teeth into brand new MegaMusic??!!. Nothing cooler than virgin ears hearing new Megadeth once again. And once you get the song ...then WOW!
I know the lyrics like the back of my hand (as most of you do too, and of course I see the lyrics 1000 times a day - contest), and I look forward to every single word throughout the song now. That says a lot. The melody is very cool, very Mustaine, very Megadeth. And is all Dave's great sounding vocals. You guys are going to love the way he sings this.
The music is beyond killer. Again, intricate with many parts and so much driving energy. Slamming riffs, classic Megadeth style headbanging parts (you know where your head just has to headbang in the Megadeth fashion - no other headbangin' like it ), WICKED - FAST - RAW guitar leads, and kick drum that is going to knock you off your seats! This is the real Megadeth. This is the raw Megadeth. It takes me back to RIP and SFSGSW ...though I don't normally like to compare to other albums, but it reminds me of no other Megadeth albums. At the same time; brand spanking new!!
Really, I can't say enough about the song. Absolutely rippin'. This one is a sure winner. You fans are going to go nuts over it. This is what we want to hear. Absolute classic Megadeth!
BTU is going to stand along side of Hangar and Holy Wars for epic Megadeth songs of all time.

Folks ...Droogies .... wow!
This is the 5th song that I have been sent now from the new album. I have been very busy and have wanted so much to bring you reviews on what i have been hearing. I'm going to start with this one though since I just got it about half hour ago, and I feel i have known the song for a lifetime now. After only three listenings.
Two words: Powerful. Dramatic.
One more word: Powerful.
(ya ya I know I said it once )
This song is really over the top for me. This is the kind of a song that could wrap up the album, though I don't know where Dave has put it on the track list. Wherever it will be, ...will be.
1st listen I thought ...ya very cool. ...there is a really wild intro ...creepy kind of child like ...at school recess ...guitars and such. Very cool, gives a whole child like feel ...then gets into Mega heavy verses and epic strong choruses. With all kinds of intricate parts and nuances everywhere. So after first istening I thought "well that was pretty damn cool" ..so I play it again...
2nd listen. This time at louder volume. Blast me. This isn't a double kick type song, this is more of a huge dramatic song with the choruses really being the main key. Huge. Sheer speed and double kick are on the other songs (Kick The Chair, BTU.... )This song is big, very well produced. So the second listening I am going "wow" "wow" ....."wow' ..."jeeeez" ....."man" "wow" all the way through. So it is sinking in big time on the second play, unlike the first which more or less just went by me and gave me the taste. This is where I started hearing how strong the choruses were and how Dave was singing with all his might, talent, Mustaine sound, ...giving it all he's got. So i continue to go "wow".
3rd listen, right after. Now the song has absorbed me. I have my eyes closed and my head is going round with the music. It has taken me, I am now loving this song after only third listen. I cant wait to hear the next part cause I know it's coming. The child like guitars playing in a bizarre kind of playground, the solid, even, chunky verses which bleed into the leads which move into these powerful choruses sooooo smothly ...man you just hang for the choruses...and the leads are so slick, so tasty, ...best leads I've heard on the album yet just cause they sound so damn good. Damn. Great stuff here.
Every Megadeth album seems to have parts of songs, or whole songs that just pull on your heart strings, Dave's singing ..you know when he is just giving it his every last emotion that he could ever have? ...well this song has got it.This song has got it all.
Only three listens and it stands as my personal fave so far.
Overall, from the 5 songs I have heard, this album has so much diverstiy. It will surely please everyone. Speed freaks .. you will not be dissapointed. It is all the best Megadeth. It really does have it all. Epic. Imo.
I can't wait to hear it on my home system rather than MP3's ...man, we are all in for a treat.

Tears In A Vial 05-15-2004
Sitting here listening to Tears In A Vial for about the hundredth time and thought "hey, good time to write, being the hundredth time and all"
Very melodic song. Really tasty sounding chords are used throughout. Fading in guitar feedback starts the song with a toned down type Mustaine vocal over the rest of the intro, building into strong singing for the verse. Has a gallop type rhythm during the verses with a change to the chorus and some very sweet leads come later on. Poland has one very slick lead in the mid section. This song isn't the double kick type, yet has a very steady drive and that classic metal gallop. *Third lead just kicked in* ...which trails into a building bridge, then into a rippin part for the ending. *NP: rippin part*.
This whole ending is just too cool. Dave's vocals are all Mustaine all the way, and the melody fits well over this cool fast rhythm. The guitars are moving at the high speed type gallop with a crazy-only-Mustaine-could-write rhythm change on bars 7 & 8 which is my favorite part in this entire song. That rhythm change happens four times here at the end, then heads into an outro. This song is the kind that can stick in your head all day long. Especially that wicked ending
All in all I have to say again; this album has it all. It is jam packed with strong songs, big songs, double kick thundering songs, epic songs, melodic songs, rippin' fast songs, and a smorgasbord of cool parts a la Megadeth! Dave's vocals have never been better. Production is top notch as well ...and that coming from someone who has only heard MP3's unmastered. Final product is going to be giant.

Of Mice And Men 05-20-2004
Of course I'm going to tell you this is my new favorite song on the album ...and, well it is! Opens up with a few lines of just vocals, layered thick with harmonies; very unique intro that has not been done in this way by Megadeth before. Moves into a heavy thundering drum beat on the toms and really cool sustaining chords which is the structure for the verses. The melody of the verses, and the actual lyrics are my favorite part of this song; theme is Dave moving through the years of his life. Excellent lyrics, well written ..and even a better melody. Back when I was just seventeen I thought that I knew everything...
Mice will scury when they hear the low end rumbling through the speakers in your living rooms (ok you probably dont have mice in your houses - but they will hear it outside!) ...not double kick style; but the way Vinnie hammers on the toms though the verses will definitely have your house vibrating. This song must be played loud! At twenty-five I was surprised ..That I was still even half alive..
And the little fills that Chris puts in here and there throughout the song are sooooooo sweet sounding. Very tastefully done Chris! Little licks that move you back into the sound of Dave's incredible vocal and verse melody. You all remember how good Dave's vocals sound right??! Damn ...the verse melodies are just too good. The more I hear this song over and over and over; the more I love it. This is some really, really good Megadeth. The fire burns on and on ..That drives me on till all is gone...
Men might have simple plans in this song, but Dave has an agenda to move you guys right off your seats. Wait till you hear his killer lead in the middle section. Not very long, but so well done ...tears into this lead from out of the mid chorus. Short and sweet. Very sweet. ...and rippin' fast. *headbangs in a big way* ...Except the simple plans ..Of mice and men
Of Mice And Men - a song that will grow on you in a big way.

Die Dead Enough 06-04-2004
Oh man ...oh man ...oh man ...oh man.
You are all going to freak when you hear this one
Dave said it was his favorite. He told me it is his favorite. I told him I just can't believe how good this song is.
Whoa.
I'm listening to it right now. After a long day of listening to Set The World Afire then coming back to this. Wow. Move over all previous Megadeth music. Welcome Die Dead Enough
I just don't know what to say. This is the coolest song I have ever heard.
Talking about MEGA FRIKIN HEADBANGING!!!!
Has a crazy little ...HUGE feedback/lead guitar/synth/whammy/multi guitar intro into THE coolest verse you can imagine. ALL Megadeth, all headbanging style/chunk! Another element has just been added to this already exceptional album. Wicked chunk rhythm guitar!!! The verses are soooooo chunky with the sweetest guitar licks .. just too slick!
The verses go into these tres cool melodic layered vocal choruses ..very very catchy choruses. You'll be singing these to yourself all day long. ..back to another verse ..."my heart is beating like a drum *BOOM*" ....and later; a middle 8 that leads into the second half of this tune ...which is MONSTEROUS! MAN! ST. MONSTER has arisen!! This is a GIANT change into this next part ..septuplet driving kick beats...Leads abundant!! Guitar leads all over the place SQUEEEELLLLL. This song is nuts ...coming at you from every angle! Leads ....more kick ...more kick .... fills ... "aye aye aye" vocals ..............."I can't die dead enufffffff! END!
Believe me. This song rules.
